ClamWin is a free anti-virus software for Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003. It provides a graphical user interface to the Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) engine.
ClamWin Free Antivirus uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software Foundation and is free (both free of charge and free as in freedom) software. It comes with an easy installer and open source code at no cost. ClamWin features:
- Scanning scheduler
- Automatic virus database updates on a regular basis
- Standalone virus scanner
- Context menu integration to Microsoft Windows Explorer
- Addin to Microsoft Outlook
There is also a extension for Mozilla Firefox that uses ClamWin Free Antivirus to scan downloaded files for viruses (currently only supports Firefox 1.5).
